If you are a busy working mother or in the fortunate position to be able to employ a nanny to look after your children there are a lot of agencies out there to go to for some help and guidance. This is probably the best route to go when looking for someone to employ to look after your children as they would have done all the checks required by law. They would have a portfolio for you to go through to find someone who you think would get on with your children and who would care about them as much as you as parents do.

You may not want a nanny to live in but if that is your requirement then you would also be looking for someone who you see as really fitting in with your family. Requirements vary some looking for a full time nanny others part time or maybe you just need someone for a short time placement so help out for some reason. The rates would obviously vary depending on their experience your needs and also the area that you live in. You could advertise privately but then you would have to be sure you are happy with their references to do all the checks yourself.
